In the closest surrounding of our house you find the Albertina, Vienna’s biggest museum, which accomodates one of the largest and most valuable graphic art collections in the world, containing Albrecht Dürer’s famous “Hare” and masterpieces of Rembrandt, Rubens, Manet and Cézanne.

Aviano is also an ideal initial point if you plan an evening in the opera, which is only about 3 walking minutes from our house, or if you intend to visit the “House of Music” close by at Annagasse. It is always a big experience especially for children to conduct the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and compose your own waltz.
Walk in the footsteps of Mozart, starting at Aviano via Rauhensteingasse, Blutgasse to Domgasse and visit the famous “Mozarthaus”.
In a few walking minutes you also reach Hofburg, the Imperial Palace, with its various museums, like Sissimuseum, the National Library, the Treasury, the Spanish-Riding-School, the Hofburg-Chapel and the Ephesos-Museum. 

Also a range of magnificent churches are easily reachable, like St. Stephan’s Cathedral, the Augustinerkirche , Karlskirche , Ruprecht’skirche and Kapunzinerkirche with the Imperial Burial Vault, which is situated on Neuer Markt, directly in front of our entrance.
While walking from one sight to another you should take a break in one of Vienna’s  typical Coffeehouse and enjoy a “Melange” or an “Einspänner” together with a piece of cake or strudel. Then you are starched for shopping on one of the shopping streets in the sourrounding, like Kärntnerstrasse and Graben. Also Mariahilferstrasse, the most famous shopping street in Vienna, is reachable on foot or by underground.

For trips to the outskirts of Vienna we suggest to take the underground lines U1, U2 or U4 from Karlsplatz and U1 and U3 from Stephansplatz. Fast and comfortable you reach Schönbrunn Palace, Grinzing, Kahlenberg, Vienna Woods, Otto Wagner Church, Danube Island, VIC und Austria Center Vienna.
